NÉSTOR ROMERO CLEMENTE

(b.1992), is a composer, orchestator and filmmaker based between Barcelona and Dublin.

 

Born in Spain and raised internationally, Néstor has been a student of Dr. Garrett Sholdice, Dr. Linda Buckley, Dr. Ciaran Crilly, Prof.Dr. Albert Clement, Conrad Pope and Christopher Young.

 

His work gravitates amongst music and visuals, his background formed from a combination of classical music practice, musicology, and a variety of technical roles in film, television and photography. Over the years, he has developed a deep interest in the exploration of these disciplines as complimentary tools that can contribute to each other in order to reflect on a particular concept, narrative or theme. His music is often concept-driven, with a particular focus in historical exploration, tradition, landscape and identity. Nestor’s music is characterized by transparent tonal melodies, tone clusters and rich textural patterns.

 

Nestor’s music has been performed and recorded by musicians throughout Europe, such as Kate Ellis, the Spilliaert Trio, the Zeeuwse Kamerorkest, the O’Carolan ensemble, the Apollo brass ensemble, and the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. As a film composer, Néstor has credits with Netflix, KBS, A3Media, TV3, Magno Entertainment and Sula Films. Néstor has worked and collaborated with numerous artists, including director Santiago Alvarado, film-maker Patricia Delso, director David S. Murga director Derek Ugochukwu, director and producer Joaquin Oristrell, and singer-songwriter Naomi Wachira.

Néstor is also the director of LightJar, a creative production company based in Dublin, Ireland.
